This
page is about Peggy Odgers, the lady I married in June of 1962. I
am writing this opening bit from my perspective since this whole thing
is my website. Perhaps later she will have something to say.
As I remember,
the first time I saw Peggy was about 9:30 a.m. on either a Tuesday or Thursday
morning in the large, two story lecture auditorium in Crow Hall in the
Spring of 1959. At that time, Crow Hall was the home of the
Physics Department of Washington University. The class was Physics
101, one of several choices given to all student for their freshman science
requirment, and I was the course instructor. Peggy was just one of
over 250 student who filed in for the twice weekly early morning lecture.
As the rest of the students were filing out she stopped and said, "Mr.
Odgers, I don't understand.....", and, as I remember, whatever it was she
didn't understand, I tried to explain. That was the very first step
in a relationship that grew to marriage, two sons, as of now one granddaughter
and a 40 plus year partnership. Peggy was beautiful the first time
I saw her and she is beautiful today.
This picture
of Peggy and our granddaughter Madeline was taken at the time of her visits
to California in December 2001.
Now there is
going to be a lot more about Peggy as my website develops, but for now
this is it. |
